Te Roopu Awhina ki Porirua is a kaupapa Maori service that started in 1979 as a result of identifying whanau needs in Porirua. We now provide quality whanau driven services, which are funded by Ministries of Health ,MSD, DHB CCPHO and Youth Justice, our programs include 
Family Start
Family Start is a support service designed to provide on-going support to parents of newborn children for up to the first five years of the child’s life. The focus of FS is on the child’s development and to assist and empower the whanau/family to strengthen and improve their situation where they no longer require our assistance.
Te Kaiarahi Maori Mental Health
We provide a support service for whanau/family, individuals or groups with diagnosed mental health issues.
Child Advocate
We also employ the current Wellington Advocate for Children and Young People who witness family violence
Social Work in Schools:
We have two specialist workers that are based in Brandon Intermediate, Russell School, Tairangi School, Corinna School and Natone Park School
Violence Prevention
We have programs focussed on strategies for Intervention.
(Kaiawhina) Wellbeing support CPHO
We offer home-based support in the Wellington region to those facing challenges of various natures. Our kaiawhina works closely with city GPs and nurses in identifying and supporting practical needs.
